I grew up in Paris, Texas, attended Paris ISD schools, and graduated with honors from Paris High School. I followed my father (Class of ’54) to Texas A&M University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. I returned to Paris after a long and unsuccessful attempt to join a Wall Street firm (Dow Jones 750) to help develop a computer accounting program that my father had designed. Three years later, still wanting to pursue my dream of “working on Wall Street”, I joined the Ft. Worth, TX branch of the regional brokerage firm, Rotan-Mosle, a subsidiary of Paine Webber. As a young man of 25, I experienced the “Bull Market’s rise of the Dow past 2,000 in 1986 and the “Crash of 1987”. I continued to work as a broker, went back to school and earned my Master’s degree and teaching credentials from the University of Texas at Arlington. On a trip to Hawaii, I met my wife Carol and we married in 1991. Five years later we moved to Denison, Carol’s home town. I began teaching Geography, Government and Economics as well as coaching golf at Denison High School in 1998, and raising our three fantastic children. I left DHS to work for my father-in-law in 2005. In 2009 I had a “wake-up call” and almost died, causing me to fully understand that life is truly short and that we do not know the number of our days. In the middle of the “Financial Crisis” I re-entered the financial services industry and became an agent with New York Life and registered representative of NYLIFE Securities. In 2016, I decided to take my financial practice to total independent status, providing my clients with a broader array of products and services to better face the ever changing economic landscape. I seek to combine my strengths, skills, and experience as an educator and financial professional to serve my clients and community by helping them develop their plan to meet their financial goals and be a financial resource for the Texoma community. As a 22+ year resident of Denison, I believe very strongly that small, closely held and family owned businesses are the backbone of communities like ours and many others around the nation. My mission is to help people Keep, Protect, & Grow more of what they earn so that we all are in a position to be generous with the blessings of financial security.
